Bridge Inspection Team Leader

Office: Rochester, NY

Position: Full-Time

RE&LS is immediately seeking a Bridge Inspection Team Leader to work on bridge inspection projects in Western New York areas. We are looking for a self-motivated, team-oriented engineer with strong communication skills and a working knowledge of bridges (design, construction, and/or condition inspections).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead field inspection team of up to 3 people
• Coordinate inspection schedules and access equipment
• Supervise assistant inspectors and special access contractors
• Assess bridge element conditions and document findings
• Prepare inspection reports

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:

• BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university
• 4-5 years bridge design and/or bridge inspection experience
• NYS Professional Engineering license required
• Must possess a valid driver’s license

 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Familiarity with NYSDOT preferred
• NYS Professional Engineering license required
• Must be able to work from heights
• Must be able to efficiently plan, organize, and safely execute work
• The job requires proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Suite

 

Compensation: $58 - $72 per hour
