Code Compliance
RAVI has successfully provided Code Compliance services for the New York State Office of General Services (OGS) and numerous public and private sector clients for more than 11 years. Our team currently includes six Certified Code Enforcement Officials, strategically positioned and available to serve projects throughout New York State.
Our code compliance responsibilities typically include the inspection of buildings and structures during construction, alteration, and repair to
verify compliance with approved plans, specifications, applicable building codes, ordinances, regulations, and relevant State laws. We also
perform inspections of existing buildings and structures to confirm ongoing code compliance and identify potential deficiencies.

Our Process
RAVI’s inspection and compliance program includes:
- Attendance at preconstruction and routine progress meetings
- Performance of periodic and continuous on-site inspection services, as required
- Review of construction activities for compliance with applicable codes, regulations, approved construction documents, including all ADA requirements
- Identification and documentation of discrepancies in materials, workmanship, and installation
- Coordination with project stakeholders to facilitate timely resolution of deficiencies
- Preparation of detailed inspection reports documenting findings and corrective actions
- Project closeout inspections and preparation of comprehensive final reports
Through our experienced staff and proven inspection processes, RAVI helps
ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with all
applicable regulatory requirements.
Work Site / Preconstruction
- Attendance at preconstruction meetings
- Review of project documentation and approved plans
- Verification of site readiness for construction activities
- Monitoring of stormwater pollution prevention and erosion control measures in accordance with project drawings and SWPPP requirements
Foundation Inspections
- Verification of properly sized, spaced, and lapped vertical and horizontal reinforcing steel
- Inspection of pipe penetration reinforcement
- Confirmation of compliance with approved construction documents
Footing Inspections
- Evaluation of soil and subsurface conditions
- Review of geotechnical reports, groundwater conditions, and compaction testing documentation
- Verification of reinforcing steel size, spacing, and lap requirements
- Confirmation that footings are installed in accordance with approved plans
Backfill Inspections
- Verification of approved materials and compaction requirements
- Observation of proper backfilling procedures
Framing and Superstructure Inspections
- Verification of structural framing elements and connections
- Inspection of steel, wood, and concrete structural systems for code compliance
Floor and Slab Inspections
- Inspection of subgrade preparation, reinforcement, vapor barriers, and slab components prior to concrete placement
Building Systems Rough-In Inspections
- Review of mechanical, electrical, and fire protection systems prior to concealment
Masonry Inspections
- Observation of masonry construction, reinforcement, grout placement, and workmanship
Plumbing Inspections
- Inspection of plumbing installations for compliance with applicable codes and approved plans
